Virendra and Chhaya.

We had the very basic room. The shared bathroom was clean enough but the lighting was a little bit low, a lighter bulb would have helped. Wifi was run, as everywhere else in India. Location is about 5-7min walk from Assi Ghat. Some nice cafes and restaurants around once you get to the main street.

Now let's talk about the highlights. Virendra and Chhaya are the best hosts ever. As soon as we arrived, Virendra offered chai and asked us to sit and relax and we had our first of many conversations. This is a big break from Delhi where we felt like everyone was trying to cheat us. Here at Kedar Guesthoust, you don't feel this at all. Breakfast is not "included", as explained by Virendra, it is offered and they were delicious. One of us had the stomach flu and he provided some medicine and made sure she got better. If you are here in India to learn about the culture, please take some time to sit and discuss with the hosts, it'll be a pleasure for them to teach you about it and they did it better than anyone else we've met in India. We had a really pleasant stay and some great memories about this Kedar Guesthouse.

A great location, close to Assi ghat and restaurants, with a pleasant homely atmosphere and happy, friendly staff. Kedar Guest House is away from the main crowded busy city and we enjoyed our own space. The grounds are well kept and create a wonderful environment . Best for us was Owner of guest house always available and helping nature .
I was alone felt homey and safe as a alone lady

“At Home in Varanasi”

Arriving in the very early morning by train in Varanasi, we made our way via tuk-tuk to Kedar guest house. Even at 6:00am our hosts Virendra were gracious, accommodating and at our service. After resting a few hours we were treated to a home made breakfast and asked how they could help us during our stay. We thought a day of rest would be the best thing for us, so we spent the day napping and chatting with our hosts.

As a result of days spent in Delhi and Jaipur, we did not have a great deal of energy to tour Varanasi. Our hosts took it upon themselves, over the next days, to make sure we saw at least a bit of the city, learn about the history and the current issues facing the population. We truly enjoyed our time with the Virendra's, we felt "part of the family" and are so grateful for their care and compassion.

As to the accommodations - they are excellent! Clean, tidy, modern. Our room was spacious with every amenity we needed, the bed extremely comfortable, the private bathroom gleaming and perfectly functioning.

We highly recommend Kedar Guest House, a wonderful combination of outstanding accommodations and informed, professional hosts.

Room Tip: Any room at this B&B would be excellent!

What a great way to start the Varanasi experience.....and my first time in Varanasi too. I felt comfortable and at home with Virendra bhaisahab and Chaya bhabhi and the family. All real, no impersonal, synthetic, hotel-like feelings at all. After thatmy time at Dhrupad Mela and then finally the Varanasi experience. All reasons to go back again and again to re-live it all. Kedar Guest House, I'll be back for sure..... :)

Very good place to stay, nice family, clean rooms, quiet and not expensive. Just close to Assi Ghat which is a bit outside the center, less noisy and really beautiful. xx

Virendra is a real host and knows how to cater to visitors. He told me that he first finds out what his guest wants and then goes about providing it. How true. The guest house has all the required facilities to meet all types of accommodation and budget. Located in a quiet residential street very close to Assi ghat which is the main tourist area in the south of the city.
